2/18/12 (Season 7)
Eric & LeeAnn finish first in Week 8
There's no better way to return to league than with a first place finish. That's exactly what LeeAnn Greenauer did in her first league night since last season. Eric Klavoon & LeeAnn Greenauer tied in record at 14-2 with Bob Greenauer & Jon Sandino. Having won their head-to-head game against Bob & Jon, Eric & LeeAnn sealed the first place spot. In fact, the difference came down to their one game against Bob & Jon, which was a double-perfect game that went to overtime. Eric & LeeAnn's four points in overtime was enough to give them the head-to-head win. This marks Eric's 3rd straight first place finish and 4th in the last five weeks.
Had it not been for coming in second place, Bob & Jon would have posted the best performance of the season. In addition to finishing 14-2, they tossed 5 perfect games, tying a league record for the most in a league night. This was also accomplished in past seasons by the following pair-ups:
Bob Greenauer & Josh Greenauer (Season 3 - Week 3)
Eric Klavoon & Scott Silverman (Season 5 - Week 9)
Eric Klavoon & Scott Silverman (Season 5 - Week 10)
Dan Klavoon & Josh Greenauer (Season 5 - Week 10)
Other perfect games thrown in Week 8 include Eric & LeeAnn (2), Josh Greenauer & Dana Misenheimer (2), Brian Ellis & Matt Nelson (2), and Scott Silverman & Laurie Greenauer. A total of 12 perfect games were thrown on the night.
Surprisingly, there were four deflections where the disc went into the goal and came out the slot. Very unlucky! Also, Nick Stewart threw his first Instant Win in a game against Brian Barber & Phil Schneider.
Alex Reinecke & Tim Klavoon edged Scott & Laurie in shootout; both teams tied at 9-7 with Alex & Tim taking the 5th place spot with their shootout victory that went to overtime.
Kim Daugherty & Darin Benaglio won the Week 8 random prize drawing. They each won a $10 gift card to Target.
With Week 8 in the books, everyone's "drop week" is now calculated into the overall standings going forward. While all stats remain (wins, losses, etc.), every player gets to drop their worst week in points. For those that missed a week, their drop week is simply the week they missed. Those that have attended every week have their worst week of points deducted. Eric Klavoon has climbed up into sole possession of first place at 146 points. Matt Nelson moves into second, just one point ahead of Bob Greenauer (3rd). Josh Greenauer is tied with Jon Sandino at 130 points, but has the better record to place him ahead at 4th place. Check out the entire list on the Overall Standings page.
