Interested in starting your own KanJam tournament?  Then you've come to the right place.  Check out some tips below for getting started.

Steps for a successful KanJam tournament:

1. Start a sign-up list for interested teams (at least 12 teams). Collect player email addresses/phone numbers to keep in touch with all teams.

2. Find a facility (indoors) or a park (outdoors) to hold the tournament.

3. Set up a date and time for the tournament.
Ex. Saturday, August 21st, 2010 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm

4. Determine team registration costs based on tournament prizes and rental fees (if any). Generally $20 to $40 per team is the average.

5. Set up the tournament format. Determine a format that will work in the designated timeframe.

Most tournaments consist of "regular season" and "playoff" play. Shorter tournaments can be set up in a bracket style without a "regular season" play. Larger tournaments can use bracket style for the playoffs.

Regular Season -
- Teams play one game against all the teams in their division (if divisions are necessary). Teams are then ranked based on total number of wins.

Playoffs -
- If no bracket is used (smaller tourney), teams are ranked from top to bottom. Determine how many teams will make playoffs (4, 8, 16, 32, etc). Top seed will play the bottom seed in best-of series until one team remains. Best-of series can change from round to round (best of 3, best of 5, best of 7).
- In a larger tournament, teams can be divided into evenly numbered divisions. Teams will be ranked from top to bottom within their division. Determine how many teams will make the playoffs from each division. Top seed will play the bottom seed in best-of series within their division. Divisional winners will face off for the finals.

6. Set up a simple scoresheet for teams to keep track of wins, and losses.

7. Determine prizes (if any) for winners and giveaways for teams that participate.

8. Gather plenty of KanJam sets and flying discs for use in the tournament! Click here to purchase more sets if needed.

9. Play, compete, and have fun!

KanJam Rules:
